Latest PricesA cathode ray tube (CRT) is a specialized vacuum tube in which images are produced when an electron beam strikes a phosphorescent surface. The CRT monitor was most commonly used with desktop computer displays until the invention of flat screens. The CRT PC display is similar to the "picture tube" in a TV receiver.
CRT monitors use a lead shield to block most X-ray emissions. However, the problem with lead is that just a very small amount of it can cause lead poisoning, so there is a large effort to keep lead out of landfills and incinerators. Thankfully here in the United States, ICT-ITAD.com Inc runs a program to recycle CRTs and television sets. In doing so, we help keep lead from CRT computer screens and televisions out of landfill sites and out of our food and water supply.

Latest PricesOld waste CRT displays and monitors aren't classified as regular trash, in fact, a junk CRT computer monitor or TV isn't really classified as garbage either. Broken or unwanted CRTs are actually classified as toxic waste, solid toxic waste to be more precise. Therefore, old TV sets and computer monitors don't go into the dumpster along with the rest of your household trash.
CRT garbage needs to be collected by, or taken to, a State authorized e-waste recycler. ICT-ITAD.com Inc. is a State authorized R2 and EPA registered e-waste recycler that offers both the collection and recycling of your garbage CRT monitors and TV sets. We only collect from businesses and not from households. However, if you are a resident with an old TV, we would recommend you either create a company e-waste event at your workplace or arrange to bring it to us.

Latest PricesThe interior of a CRT is a vacuum. This makes handling an intact CRT potentially dangerous. There is a risk of breaking the tube and causing a violent implosion that can hurl shards of glass at great velocity. As a matter of safety, ICT-ITAD.com uses specialized equipment to safely manage the separation of the tube.
We use this equipment to separate the tube into two pieces, the 'face' and the 'rear &funnel' which has the most leaded glass. It is easy to recycle the rear of the CRT as it consists of pure glass, however, the front of the tube (the screen) is a lot harder to manage as the glass is permeated with lead. However, once the CRT has been safely separated by our CRT disassembling machine (which is aptly named CRT Heaven) the process of recycling can begin.
Recycle your CRT displays and computer monitors the right way, call ICT-ITAD.com today or click the below link for a price guide.
Contact UsIf you are interested in how much it costs to collect and recycle computer CRT monitors and screens you will be pleasantly surprised. Due to advances in CRT recycling technology, we can manage the process of separating the glass from the lead efficiently and safely. This equates to reasonable recycling prices for our customers.
The separated leaded glass is sent off to a massive electrically powered furnace, where it is melted into a molten liquid. The lead is heavier than the molten glass and it sinks to the bottom. This allows the lead and the glass to be drained off separately. Obviously, it costs a lot of money to heat this enormous furnace but the lead and glass recovered can be resold which helps keep the costs of recycling CRTs lower than they have ever been.
If you have pallets of CRT monitors that need to be collected and recycled our CRT recycling facility and fleet of collection trucks can help.

To protect our environment from toxic waste resulting from the incorrect disposal of CRT monitors and televisions, it has now recommended to process these items through a certified e-waste recycler.
The good news is, we at ICT-ITAD.com run a facility and collection service that is fully authorised to pick-up and dispose of used CRT monitors. As an R2 and State authorised CRT e-waste recycler we are able to collect and manage the disposal of CRT computer monitors from New Jersey, New York (including NYC and Long Island), Southern Connecticut and parts of Eastern Pennsylvania.
